Having just got it from Richard, I went to Dunstable for a try out. The wind was a bit light, so went to the bowl for a ground handle, as the wind was just about enough for that I had about an hour of up and down handling, getting used to the wing.
Soon after Dave called to see if it was worth a trip there, I told him it was a bit southerly and weak. But he decided to come on up anyway. When he did arrive, he brought a welcome cuppa and a cake, both went down a treat. As we were drinking, the wind had been building a bit, I decided to give the bowl end a try, the wind was a bit light still but do able, I took off, after Dave had taken a few pics and had a few beats on the Summit 3 and was happy with its handling, I took a longer run along the ridge and lost my advantage on my turn back to the lift area. I decided a bottom landing was OK for the day, plus I wanted to know what it came in like in the field? I was well happy with it, it came to a nice stop at a walk, in 5mph head wind, quite leisurely. Brakes were a bit long for me, but they were adjusted before, so Richard let them off a bit, I will have a few more test flights to get the right length. With luck I should be able to have a fly at the Long Mynd this Saturday, after the air show in brum.
